2009 Petro-Canada Sport Leadership Sportif

This annual conference, organized by the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC), fosters the development of Canada as a leading sport nation and reinforces CAC's role in achieving that goal. This year's conference will also include the International council for Coach Education (ICCE) Global Coach Conference which will bring together coaches and coach educators, researchers and sport scientists, technical directors, and sport administrators to address issues in coaching, to learn about new coaching research, and to share experiences with the top coaching development experts in the world. Douglas College "Week of the Coach"

"Week of the Coach" is taking place at the New Westminster Campus from September 21-25th. If you coach at any level of sport, the Douglas College Sport Science Department and Center for Campus Life (formerly Center for Sport Recreation & Wellness) want to recognize you!  

This week-long celebration is open to all College Faculty, staff, students and community coaches, with the sole purpose of recognizing, promoting and inspiring our youth leaders! The Weeks events will include guest speakers, open College sport practices, one-on-one live or online Q & A with student-coaches and an Investors Group Community Award.  

As one coach said “I love to see a group of kids running, practicing a sport and learning how to get along with each other.  I’d like to think that my role as the coach will have something to do with the adults that my athletes will grow up to be.”
