Awarded by the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity, this scholarship is open to a young woman, a girls' team, or a sport organization that demonstrates a keen interest in sports and a healthy lifestyle, takes the initiative to make positive things happen, is highly motivated and enthusiastic, and strives to be the best and doesn't give up trying. The Bobbie Steen Award of Excellence recognizes an individual who demonstrates exemplary leadership in sport and recreation and serves as an outstanding role model. Application Details

Bobbie Steen Legacy Foundation

The Bobbie Steen Legacy Foundation has been created to provide financial support to charitable activities dedicated to advancing gender equity in physical activity and sport and/or the community betterment resulting from female involvement in physical activity and sport. Application Details

National Sport Federation Grants

The Coaching Association of Canada administers these grants which are available for national sport organizations that operate programs and/or initiatives to increase the number of women coaching or to increase the certification levels of women coaching in sport. Application Details

Professional Development Grants

Professional Development Grants form the Coaching Association of Canada assist women who are interested in a career in coaching by providing an opportunity to upgrade their education and certification. Coaches must be Competition-Development certified in the National Coaching Certification Program and be an approved Level 4/5 candidate. Application Details

Women in Coaching NCI Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded annually to women coaches who attend one of seven National Coaching Institutes located across Canada. Eligibility criteria:

  • Canadian citizen or landed immigrant currently coaching Canadian athletes
  • NCCP Competition-Development certified
  • Have been accepted into the full-time or part-time diploma program at one of the seven National Coaching Institutes across Canada.
