The host agency is the primary delivery agent of the multi-sport modules within the province. The Coaches Association of BC is available to assist in the planning of the course.
A hosting agency may be a municipal recreation department, provincial sport organization, university/college, community recreation centre, etc. The host agency is responsible for scheduling a date and facility for the course, contacting and paying Learning Facilitators, helping ensure local coaches are aware of the course, accepting names for registration, and post course administration.
Note: The minimum age to take a multi-sport NCCP course is 16 years old. Credit will not be given to those below this minimum age requirement.
Wondering how to go about hosting a multi-sport NCCP course in your community? You need to do the following:
Having trouble locating a Learning Facilitator? The Coaches Association of BC has a list of all the certified Learning Facilitators in BC. Contact us at info@coaches.bc.ca for a list of Learning Facilitators closest to you (or if required, those Learning Facilitator's willing to travel).
A completed Course Application and Materials Request Form must be sent to the Coaches Association of BC as soon as your course is confirmed so we can put it on our web site to increase advertisement. The form can then be accessed again 2-3 weeks prior to the course to order the appropriate amount of materials.
The hosting agency is responsible for setting the course participant registration fee. It is recommended that all participants pay in advance at the time of pre-registration. The following course fees are suggested as guidelines:
Competition - Introduction Part A - $85 - $135
Competition - Introduction Part B - $85 - $135
The (suggested) minimum number of participants to run an Introduction to Comp Part A or B course is 10. The suggested maximum is 20. Exception to these guidelines can be made, as it is the Hosting Agency's decision regarding the amount of money required to subsidize the course in the event of low enrollment.
After completion of the multi-sport NCCP course, either the host administrator or the Learning Facilitator must forward the NCCP Course Registration Form to the CABC immediately following the course. The course registration forms are the only means by which a coach can be input into the NCCP database. Accreditations can only be posted from a an NCCP Course Registration Form signed by a recognized Learning Facilitator. (Note that it is the Learning Facilitator's responsibility to ensure the Course Registration Form is submitted)
NOTE: Please make sure all course registration forms are fully completed by each participant. This includes all relevant information on the forms (i.e. coach address, cc# of the Learning Facilitator, pass or fail information). If the form is done correctly, it will alleviate errors and omissions during the data entry process in Ottawa. Also, submit the form to our office as soon as possibe after each course as this will ensure that the Coaching Association of Canada receives the apprpriate information in a timely manner.
